Pukkas First Black Tie Ball

Wow what a fabulous night. This just has to be an annual event !!!!! The theme was Magic and it lived up to the name. The kids were brilliant and what a talented bunch who really really seemed to enjoy themselves. The penquin dance by Potential from Mary Poppins was especially delightful as was the Petites “you got a friend in me”. Pukka Plus showed their amazing talent in both wonderful harmonies and fabulous dancing. Rachel’s rendition of ” I’m not that girl” from Wicked was really quite moving. ( I filled up….nicely done Rach.) First outing for Perfection lived up to the hype, little bit off the wall, some great voices, great harmonies and some great moves.
All in all a very impressive evening, enjoyed by all. Congratulations to Sarah, Nic, Sara, Cola and Lou, the Pukka Team and all the Pukka Performers……Tables looked good too……

Craft Day survived

We had a fab craft day at Crossways Church today. I will admit to being surprised at the high skill levels shown by all the pukka kids from the youngest right up to the Pukka plus’s and the Pukkateers who got stuck in too. Great ideas from all the adults from paper plate angels to sweet cones and table mats. Anything that needed laminating was very popular and some of the stamped, glittered and embossed decorations were fab. Well done everyone looking forward to the next one with lots of great ideas.

Thanks for all your hard work Pukkateers and helpers.

Craft Day

The Saturday (17th December) PUKKA will be rehearsing for the Crossways Church Nativity – it’s the least we can do, as they are so helpful with rehearsal space for PUKKA.

Running from 11am to 4pm, there will be a mix of Christmassy Creativity, including Christmas Art and Craft, singing, dancing, and the creation of a Nativity. We are asking for a donation of £10 per child to cover our costs, but it will give you a few child-free hours to get the last-minute shopping done.

The Nativity will be performed in the church at 11am on Sunday 18th and all families and friends are welcome.

Seven shows in five days! I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m kn…. tired! Nearly fell asleep during the after-show party. It seemed to go well though! Just need to sort out the photos, videos, Christmas, the nativity next weekend…

The Christmas Spirit

No, not Scrooge again, but a break from Snow White rehearsal and set preparations at the Amelia Trust Nativity. Real animals (and that’s just the kids) plus hot cocoa and mint spies! Snow White (one of them) played the Angel Gabriel, other PUKKA kids told the stories, sang the songs, and played Jesus and Mary. PUKKA adults were the shepherds, and Amelia Trust Staff were the three wise men – perhaps they’re trying to tell us something!

I know some people were taking photos – maybe they’ll appear at some point!

Penarth Flyers

Spent a few hours tearing around Penarth handing out Snow White Flyers. I was dressed as the Fairy, Chloe was dressed as a French Maid, Alan was dressed as Yelllow Slush, Sarah was Mrs Christmas, Duncan was the Woodsman, and loads of the other kids were dressed up as well. Alan chased a woman around a lamppost until she took a flyer.

We were in the parade as well behind Mother Goose. And we went in the new PUKKA BUS!

High Street Christmas Lights

The kids have been practising for weeks with their singing and group harmonies ready for this PUKKA pre-Christmas event. PUKKA were performing a variety of festive favourites in Cabana’s last night. We had Gabby and Rowan, our Snow Whites, performing beautiful solos, along with Rachel, Harriet, Sophie and the PUKKA Petites, Potentials, and Plusses – when they weren’t propping up the bar or monopolising the snooker table!

A good time was had by all, and it was a good adverty for the forthcoming Snow White panto.
