TRULY Scrumptious

March/April 2011

Truly Scrumptious‘… or should we say ‘Truly Enjoyable?

PUKKA Productions presents Truly Scrumptious, April 2011

Usually the PUKKA end of term shows are not performed in a ‘proper’ theatre, with ‘full on’ costumes, lighting and sound.

But this one was. In fact it was a ‘proper kids show’ and it really demonstrates how much these talented youngsters have progressed during their time in PUKKA. While many of the children have performed on stage before, for many this was their first time. And what a fantastic job they did… confident, cheerful (mostly) and talented!

Yes, there was fidgeting and ‘stage whispers’, some giggling, and a bit of waving, but it was all so amusing it simply added to the overall enjoyment. From the moment the Petites launched into the acapela version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, you just knew you were going to be highly entertained. And I don’t mean that in a bad way.

OK, children are considered ‘sponges’ when it comes to learning, but how impressive to see the volume of song and dance that made up this show. As well as the ensemble numbers, there were some wonderful solo performances, and we look forward to more of the children coming forward to step into the limelight for future productions.

It certainly showcased the progression of performance skills. From Petites through Potential and into Potential Plus, the confidence and talent just kept growing and growing… just like the kids, really!

Congratulations, and well done everyone… you really were ‘Truly Scrumptious’!
