As the day draws to a close on another Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge is working in his office and insisting that his clerk, Bob Cratchit, do a full day's work. The office is freezing as Scrooge is too miserly to spend money on fuel. Scrooge's nephew visits to wish him a happy Christmas but still Scrooge remains grumpy and not interested in anything merry ..."Bah Humbug"! Just before Christmas 2007, PUKKA produced a real treat with their totally original production of 'A Christmas Carol', an all-new and original version of the traditional Christmas tale. Later that night Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his dead partner, Jacob Marley. He tells Scrooge that he will be visited by three spirits and to take heed of the messages they bring. The Ghost of Christmas Past takes Scrooge back to when he was a lonely child at school then revisits his engagement to Belle, who left Scrooge when money replaced her in his heart. The Ghost of Christmas Present shows Scrooge the happy family life of the Cratchits, despite their poverty and the poor health of their son Tiny Tim. The Ghost of Christmas Future shows Scrooge the misery waiting ahead brought by the death of Tiny Tim and a grave that may be his own. Terrified, Scrooge begs that he be released from this torment, that he might change this future and help set things right. Scrooge wakes determined to change his life. Full of jollity as it is now Christmas morning, he stays true to his vow and from then on it was said that no one kept Christmas like Ebenezer Scrooge. Written by members of our talented troupe, and full of characters you love, Christmas Carol is a tale of redemption and the triumph of the human spirit, presented as a magical blend of song and dance, humour and sadness.

A piano recording of Sunday 25th November rehearsal&ldots;.most of us down with 'manflu'!! As we wrote this all ourselves we thought it would be a nice memento to make a recording of some of the songs. This however is not studio quality&ldots;it was a rehearsal&ldots;so just be warned&ldots;it's a bit ropey in places&ldots;but we hope you enjoy it anyway and that it at least gives you a taste of this magical tale.
